The Association ARBITRI will host its fourth annual arbitration conference on 24 October 2018 at Hotel Europe (Vladislava Skarića 5, Sarajevo 71000, Bosnia and Herzegovina). This is now a traditional project of the Association, which aims to promote arbitration among the business and legal community in BiH and provide a platform for networking between local and international practitioners in the field.

Facing 4 investment arbitrations worth over BAM 1,5 billion, this mechanism of dispute resolution is becoming an increasingly important aspect of Bosniaćs public discourse. As a new, developing, arbitration forum, Bosnia faces the need to adequately adjust to a developed and sophisticated global arbitration system.

With the topic, Investment Arbitration in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Lessons Learned and Path Forward, the Fourth Sarajevo Arbitration Day will bring prominent experts in the field to discuss the current topics relevant to the BiH market. This conference is a step toward preparing practitioners, arbitrators, and other interested parties for the necessary changes.

The Sarajevo Arbitration Day is a melting pot of voices coming from distinctive professional backgrounds with a common goal of putting BiH on the radar of international investors who seek legal certainty in the protection of their rights in the home state. As arbitration is recognized as the most reliable dispute resolution mechanism for investors and multinational companies, improvements in the arbitration framework in BiH can have positive long-term effects on the economy and infrastructure of the country, contributing to the well being of the society as a whole.
